Plan Review Overview
Three-inch or larger domestic taps or connections for fire sprinklers are often installed as part of the main installation. If this is the case in your project, a Water Supply License for each of these taps must be processed by Sales Administration and the tap numbers assigned for each connection must be included in your plans when they are reviewed. Please contact a Tap Sales Representative at 303-628-6100 for information.
After submittal, Denver Water, fire officials and others appropriate to the location and circumstance will review your plans. When your plans have been reviewed and approved, you contractor can begin installation. Your contractor must have a performance bond on file with Denver Water if the project is inside Denver or in a Total Service Contract area. Please contact a Plan Review Coordinator at 303-628-6100 for bond information.
Denver Water and other appropriate entities will inspect the project. When the various inspections and approvals are complete, Denver Water's Engineering Section will release the mains for tapping. Sales Administration (303-628-6100) can tell you if your project has been released.
After the mains have been released, Denver Water can begin processing applications for taps that were not made as part of the main installation. Please contact a Tap Sales Representative at 303-628-6100 for additional information about new taps.
