The Calculator looks at irrigation usage on a month-to-month basis. It also will provide peak season (July) gallons per minute (GPM) for sizing of entire systems. It requires inputs of acreage, watering windows (the frequency and duration of irrigation times) and system devices (efficiencies) for irrigating different plant types. Denver historical evapotranspiration (ET), approximate device efficiencies and derived plant coefficients are utilized when calculating values. Monthly ET for April and October are based on a recommended two-week period. Values will vary in these months depending on actual start-up and shutdown of your irrigation system. These budgets will also vary from wet to dry years and site-specific conditions. Therefore, it is to be used as an estimate and the user is responsible for site specific modifications to maximize plant vigor.
