Incentive Program
Commercial, Industrial & Institutional customers of Denver Water can receive up to $40,000 for improving the efficiency of their processes, through the Commercial, Industrial, & Institutional Performance Contracting Program.*
Projects earn $14.00 for every 1,000 gallons of water saved over a one-year period. Projects must meet the minimum savings requirement of 300,000 gallons per year in order to qualify.
Types of projects that qualify include elimination of single-pass cooling, cooling tower modifications, cleaning process changes, re-use applications or installation of water efficient equipment, and many more.

Sub-meter Rebates
Denver Water will pay our multi-family customers to install sub-metering devices for each individual residential dwelling unit. This multi-family rebate applies to new construction only.
Denver Water will pay our commercial multi-tenant customers to install sub-metering for each individual commercial unit, for both new construction and for retrofits.
This Multi-Family / Commercial Multi-Tenant Sub-Metering rebate* offers $40 each for flow meters installed to monitor individual unit water use. One rebate per dwelling or commercial unit is allowed. Property must receive treated water from a Denver Water distributor.
High Efficiency Urinal Rebate
Denver Water is offering a rebate* of $50 for each high efficiency urinal installed. High Efficiency Urinals (HEUs) include both flushing and non-water urinals. Please see the HEU list* compiled by the California Urban Water Conservation Council.
Urinal ½ Gallon per Flush Retrofit Rebate
Most* urinals can be retrofitted with ½ gpf urinal diaphragm kits, which cut water use for urinals by 50% since the present code requirements are for 1.0 gpf.
*They will not work in all urinals, such as blow-out urinals and older wash-down urinals. We recommend that these retrofit kits be tested prior to mass replacement.
Denver Water is offering a $25 rebate* for commercial customers who install a ½ gpf kit.
Restaurant Toilet Rebate Program
This program is targeting high-traffic, high-use toilets for replacement. Studies have shown that restaurant bathroom fixtures get much higher use than other commercial sites. To qualify for the rebate*, existing toilets must use 3.5 gallons per flush or more. A $100 rebate is offered for replacement with an approved standard 1.6 gpf toilet, and $200 is offered for an approved high efficiency toilets, which use an average of 1.28 gallons per flush.
Improve Single-Pass Cooling Systems
Single-pass or once-through cooling systems can be improved to provide significant water savings. Single-pass systems dispose of cooling water down the drain after circulating it through a piece of equipment. CAT scanners,

The Single-Pass Cooling Rebate offers a rebate * of $450 for commercial customers that (1) replace single-pass water cooled equipment with air-cooled options, or (2) install a closed-loop system that recycles cooling water.
Car Wash Efficiency Equipment
As part of Denver Water's Car Wash Certification Program, car washes in the Denver area have made significant improvements in their operation. To help maintain those savings, regular replacement of wash nozzles is necessary. Additional water savings can be achieved by installing weep management systems, to control bleed-off from nozzles during freezing weather.
The following rebates* are available only to certified car wash facilities:
Nozzles - A rebate of $1.00 per nozzle, up to a maximum of $300 annually.
Weep Management Systems - A rebate of $100 for installation of weep management systems.

Cooling Tower Conductivity Control
Cooling towers without adequate control systems tend to be poorly operated, and they use more water than is necessary. A good conductivity control system gives building operators the tools to operate their cooling towers at higher cycles. Water meters that monitor cooling tower make-up and bleed-off also can help control efficiency in cooling towers.
Denver Water offers a $500 rebate* per conductivity controller for sump make-up in existing cooling towers with no conductivity controller or a malfunctioning controller. An additional rebate of $50 per water meter installed to monitor tower make-up and bleed-off is available.

Coin-Operated Laundry Equipment
High-efficiency front-load laundry equipment offers significant water savings over their top-load counterparts. These machines save water, energy and chemicals, and they reduce waste water costs. This incentive will target smaller-sized washers, because typically large industrial machines only come in front-loading models.
A $150 per machine rebate* is offered for each domestic-sized coin-operated laundry equipment. The Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) list of approved commercial laundry machines will be used to determine eligibility of specific models.
Boiler-less Steamers
Steamers are commonly used in schools, hotels, hospitals and many restaurants for large-scale cooking of vegetables, fish, rice and steamed foods. Most food service establishments use the boiler-based atmospheric steamer. These are "zero pressure" steamers where steam is injected into the cooking chamber. These units typically use between 20 and 40 gallons of potable water per hour while in operation.
New boiler-less steamers, sometimes called connectionless steamers, are jacketed. The cooking chamber and steam chamber are separated and the condensate is returned and reused. The steamers use much less water than atmospheric steamers, typically 2-3 gallons per hour. Because of the significant energy savings associated with units, EPA has granted Energy Star ratings to many of these units*.
A $350 rebate* is offered per steamer for companies that replace atmospheric steamers with approved boiler-less units.
Commercial Low-Flow Toilets
Denver Water is offering a $25
rebate* per toilet to
commercial customers who replace old high-water-using toilets with qualifying
low-flow toilets that use 1.6 gallons per flush (gpf) or less.
Commercial High-Efficiency Toilets
Commercial Customers who replace old high-water-using toilets with
high-efficiency toilets (HET) that use an average of 1.28 gallons per flush (gpf) or less,
will receive a $125 rebate* for
qualifying toilets. What's an HET?
