DENVER WATER UPDATE – Marie Bassett, Director of Public Affairs
Marie gave brief updates of the recent Board meeting and Board workshop. At the Board workshop on 12/20/07, the issue of HOA rate classification will be discussed. Marie has been in contact with Mike Stringer who spoke about this issue at the last CAC meeting. A memo is being prepared and the CAC will get a copy after the workshop. Roberta requested that CAC have input or at least see the memo prior to the Board workshop. Marie stated the memo was intended for the Board and it would be a public document after the Board workshop.
Russell asked for an update on investigation into the accidental death of Shawn Patilla. Marie explained the process and outcome of the investigation and offered to get more information to any CAC member interested. Denver Water has assisted with funeral costs, as it should, and compensation for the family is covered under the State’s Workers Compensation Plan. Plans are underway to establish a scholarship fund for Shawn’s three children.
