Long-term planning always has been a key element in Denver Water's ability to meet customers’ needs in a rapidly growing, semi-arid region. Today’s customers benefit from a highly reliable water system, much of which was planned decades ago.
In continuing with those efforts, Denver Water has embarked on a new Integrated Resource Plan, which will help guide decisions related to our water system over the next 40 years. It also is studying the possible water-system effects of climate change and is working on a variety of future water supply projects, all to ensure that future customers will enjoy the same high-quality, reliable water system we have now.
Water and Growth
A study commissioned by the Front Range Water Council was undertaken to explain the relationship of water to the Colorado economy. The council is made up of the state’s largest water providers, including Denver Water.
