Pedestrian-only bridge to close at Dillon Dam

June 19, 2009 - Summit County Government and Denver Water have inspected the pedestrian bridge that crosses the Blue River just below Dillon Dam and determined that it is unsafe for pedestrian traffic because of several structural problems. To address these safety concerns, the agencies will close the bridge indefinitely. The bridge will close immediately.

Summit County Government has a recreational lease from Denver Water for the ball fields and rodeo grounds, which includes the bridge. The agencies apologize for any inconvenience this may cause; however, the nearby vehicle-pedestrian bridge at the Outlets at Silverthorne remains available for people who want to access both sides of the Blue River in this area.
