2009 Residential Rebates

Note: Only models listed on the High-Efficiency Clothes Washer, High-Efficiency Toilet, Low-Flow Toilet, Weather-based Smart Controller and Irrigation Rotary Nozzle application forms will qualify for rebates.

All rain sensor models qualify.

Specific rebates are available for new construction where water account is activated Jan. 1, 2009 and later.

• Rebates apply to qualifying items purchased between Jan. 1, 2009 and Dec. 31, 2009. No exceptions.
• All application forms must be accompanied by an original sales receipt. A valid receipt shows date purchased, manufacturer name/make, model number and price for each item. Application forms without complete information or a valid receipt will be returned to the applicant.
• Make a copy of the entire application and keep it for your personal records.
• Send rebate applications to the qualifying water provider who sends you your water bill. Your water provider will forward eligible applications to Denver Water for processing.
• All applications must be accompanied by proof of lawful presence in the United States.
• All rebate applications must be submitted within 90 days of the purchase date.
• Only new fixtures or appliances qualify. Used fixtures or appliances do not qualify for this rebate.
• If a residence has received a rebate for any of following since Jan. 1, 2002, then the resident is not eligible to receive the same rebate as part of the 2009 program:
  • three toilets
  • one weather-based smart controller
  • one rain sensor
  • one clothes washer
  • one rebate for rotary nozzles
• Customers applying for a rebate must agree to allow Denver Water employees to access their properties in order to verify installation of devices eligible for rebates.
• Failure to cash a rebate check within 90 days of issuance shall void the rebate and shall relieve Denver Water of any obligation to pay the rebate. Rebate checks cannot be reissued.
• Toilets eligible for rebate are listed on each toilet application form. ($125 rebate per high-efficiency toilet and $25 per low-flow toilet.)  Maximum rebate per household is three toilets.
• Clothes washers eligible for rebate are listed on the clothes washer application form ($150 rebate)  Only one clothes washer rebate per residence/account. 
• Weather-based smart controllers eligible for rebates are listed on the application form (one per account, 25 percent of purchase price). Some smart controllers operate based on historical information, while others operate based on current weather data transmitted each day from local weather stations during the irrigation season. Prices vary depending on the model, brand and vendor. Please do your research to find the device that meets your needs at the price you are willing to pay, or ask your professional landscape contractor. 
• All rain sensors that connect to an automatic, in-ground irrigation system are eligible for the $25 rebate; wireless rain sensors are eligible for the $50 rebate (one rain sensor rebate per household). 
• Hunter MP rotator nozzles, for use on 8- to 30-foot spray patterns, and Rain Bird rotary nozzles, for use on 13- to 24-foot spray patters, are eligible. The rebate is $5 per nozzle, $20 minimum.
