2010 Indoor Commercial, Industrial and Institutional Rebates


  • Commercial High-Efficiency Toilet Rebate

    Denver Water is offering a $125 rebate per toilet in 2010 to commercial customers who install high-efficiency toilets that use an average of 1.28 gallons per flush (gpf) or less.

    Qualifications

    • Toilets must be purchased between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010, to be eligible. 
    • SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WITHIN 90 DAYS OF PURCHASE.
    • Installation and inspection must be completed within 12 months.
    • Only the high-efficiency toilets listed, on the application or online, are eligible.
      • The original sales receipt must be attached to your application, and it must include the date of purchase, purchase price, brand name and model number.
    • If installation is for apartment or condo, please complete this Excel spreadsheet and e-mail it to conservation@denverwater.org
    • All old toilets must be rendered inoperable and are NOT to be sold for reuse.
    • One of our representatives will call to schedule an inspection of the new fixture(s) prior to issuing your rebate.
    • Mail completed application to your water provider.
    • Please allow eight to 12 weeks for your completed application to be processed.
    • Failure to cash a rebate check within 90 days of issuance shall void the rebate and shall relieve Denver Water of any obligation or liability to pay the rebate.

  • Flushometer Bowl and Valve Combination Rebate

    Denver Water will pay our commercial, industrial and institutional customers to install flushometer bowl and valve combinations that flush 1.6 gallons per flush (gpf) or less.

    The flushometer bowl and valve rebate program offers a rebate of:

    • $125 per high efficiency toilet (HET — 1.28 gpf or less) flushometer bowl and valve combination installed.
    • $75 per 1.6 gpf flushometer bowl and valve combination installed.
    • $60 per 1.6 gpf or less flushometer bowl and compatible flush valve both from list, found on application or online, all installed.
    • $60 per 1.6 gpf or less flushometer bowl from list, found on application or online, and compatible retrofit flush valve all installed.

    Note: The Alliance of Water Efficiency cautions against installing HETs if the physical conditions of the existing drain lines may be suspect or if there are little or no supplemental flows available at the site to augment the carry of waste. If new construction, it is recommended that designers seriously consider:

    • the placement of water consuming fixtures (e.g. lavatories and flushing urinals) upstream of the HETs and,
    • providing for drain line slopes of greater than -1 percent

    • A receipt for the new flushometer bowl and valve combination or retrofit kit, dated between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010, must be provided with your application.

    • Only the models on the qualifying list are eligible for rebate.

  • High-Efficiency Urinal Rebate

    The high-efficiency urinal rebate program offers a rebate of $50 per urinal installed, which flushes 0.5 gallons per flush (gpf) or less.

    Qualifications

    • Customer must receive treated water from a Denver Water distributor.
    • A receipt for the urinal(s) dated between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010, must be provided.
    • SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WITHIN 90 DAYS OF PURCHASE.
    • Installation and inspection must be completed within 12 months.
    • Once the urinal(s) are installed, Denver Water will verify installation.
    • Mail completed application to your water provider.
    • Please allow eight to 12 weeks for your completed application to be processed.
    • Failure to cash a rebate check within 90 days of issuance shall void the rebate and shall relieve Denver Water of any obligation or liability to pay the rebate.

  • Urinal Half-Gallon per Flush Retrofit Rebate

    Denver Water will pay our commercial, industrial and institutional customers to install half-gallon per flush (gpf) urinal retrofit kits in compatible urinals.

    The urinal half-gallon per flush retrofit rebate program offers a rebate of $25 per urinal retrofitted with applicable kits. Note: It is recommended that a half gpf urinal retrofit kit be tested to assure customer that flush volume is adequate. Certain older blow-out urinals and some wash down urinals may require higher flush volumes.

    Qualifications:

    • Customer must receive treated water from Denver Water or a Denver Water provider.
    • A receipt for the new half-gallon urinal kit(s), dated between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010, must be provided with your application.
    • SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WITHIN 90 DAYS OF PURCHASE.
    • Installation and inspection must be completed within 12 months.
    • Denver Water must verify installation and will call to schedule an inspection visit.
    • Mail completed application to your water provider.

  • Coin/Card-Operated Laundry Equipment Rebate

    Denver Water will pay our business and institutional customers to purchase or lease high-efficiency coin-operated laundry equipment.

    The coin- or card-operated laundry equipment rebate program offers $150 per machine purchased or leased and installed. To receive a rebate, washers must meet Consortium for Energy Efficiency (CEE) standards for energy and water efficiency. For a complete list of approved washers, go to the CEE Web site.

    Qualifications

    • Customer must receive treated water from Denver Water or a Denver Water provider.
    • A receipt for the new laundry equipment, dated between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010, must be provided with your application.
    • SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WITHIN 90 DAYS OF PURCHASE.
    • Installation and inspection must be completed within 12 months.
    • The water savings from the new equipment must last at least seven years, including leased equipment.
    • Mail completed application to your water provider.
    • Please allow eight to 12 weeks for your completed application to be processed.
    • Failure to cash a rebate check within 90 days of issuance shall void the rebate and shall relieve Denver Water of any obligation or liability to pay the rebate.
      • Rebate checks cannot be reissued.

  • Cooling Tower Equipment Rebate

    Denver Water will pay our commercial, industrial and institutional customers to replace/install conductivity control systems and sub-metering devices on cooling towers.

    The Cooling Tower Conductivity Control Equipment Rebate program offers:

    • $500 per conductivity controller installed
    • $50 per flow meter installed to monitor cooling tower make-up and bleed

    Qualifications

    • Customer must receive treated water from a Denver Water distributor.
    • A receipt for the new conductivity controller and/or sub-meter dated between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010, must be provided.
    • SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WITHIN 90 DAYS OF PURCHASE.
    • Installation and inspection must be completed within 12 months.
    • Denver Water staff must inspect the new equipment.
    • Mail completed application to your water provider.
    • Please allow eight to 12 weeks for your completed application to be processed.

  • Boilerless Steamer Rebate

    Denver Water will pay our commercial, industrial and institutional customers to replace atmospheric steamers with approved boilerless steamers.

    A rebate of $350 per approved steamer is being offered. To qualify, boilerless steamer must have EnergyStar® rating for commercial steam cookers approval. Approved list can be seen at the EnergyStar Web site.

    Qualifications

    • Customer must receive treated water from Denver Water or a Denver Water provider.
    • A receipt for the new boilerless steamer, dated between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010, must be provided with your application.
    • SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WITHIN 90 DAYS OF PURCHASE.
    • Installation and inspection must be completed within 12 months.
    • Denver Water must verify installation and will call to schedule an inspection visit.
    • Mail completed application to your water provider.

  • Sub-Meter Rebate

    Denver Water will pay our multi-family customers to install sub-metering devices for each individual residential dwelling unit. Sub-metering of new multi-family units is required by the Denver City Council Ordinance 576. Existing buildings also qualify for this rebate.

    Denver Water Commercial Industrial and Institutional (CII) customers who participate in the CII Incentive Contracts are eligible for this rebate.

    Commercial multi-tenant customers who install sub-meters for each individual commercial unit, are eligible for this rebate.

    This Multi-Family/Commercial Multi-tenant Sub-Metering Rebate Program offers:

    • $40 each for flow meters installed to monitor individual unit water use.
      • One rebate per dwelling or commercial unit is allowed.

    Qualifications

    • Property must receive treated water from Denver Water or a Denver Water provider.
    • A receipt for sub-meters dated between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010.
    • SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WITHIN 90 DAYS OF PURCHASE.
    • Installation and inspection must be completed within 12 months.
    • Sub-meters must be installed. Denver Water will verify installation.
    • Mail completed application to your water provider.
    • Please allow eight to 12 weeks for your completed application to be processed.

  • Water-Cooled Equipment Replacement Rebate

    Denver Water will pay our commercial, industrial, and institutional customers to replace single-pass water-cooled equipment with air-cooled models (or better technology).

    The Water-Cooled Equipment Replacement Rebate program offers $450 per piece of equipment replaced. This can apply to the following types of equipment:

    • Air compressors
    • Vacuum pumps
    • Ice machines (see qualifying model list, which is attached to the application or available online)
    • Hydraulic equipment
    • Refrigeration condensers
    • Other equipment, as approved by Denver Water Conservation staff
    • X-ray processing equipment

    Qualifications

    • The company must receive treated water from a Denver Water distributor.
    • A receipt for the new air-cooled equipment, dated between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010, must be included.
    • SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WITHIN 90 DAYS OF PURCHASE.
    • Installation and inspection must be completed within 12 months.
    • Denver Water staff must inspect the new equipment and verify that it replaced old equipment.
    • Mail completed application to your water provider.
    • Please allow eight to 12 weeks for your completed application to be processed.
    • Failure to cash a rebate check within 90 days of issuance shall void the rebate and shall relieve Denver Water of any obligation or liability to pay the rebate.

  • Car Wash Equipment Rebate

    The Car Wash Equipment Rebate Program offers:

    • $1 rebate per nozzle purchased, up to a maximum of $300 per year, and minimum of five.
    • $100 rebate for weep management systems installed to control weather system bleed

    Qualifications

    • Property must receive treated water from a Denver Water provider.
    • Property must possess a current “Certified Car Wash Certificate” from Denver Water.
      • To obtain this certificate, please call 303-607-3110 for details and appointment.
    • A receipt for the nozzles/weep management system dated between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010, must be included with the application.
    • SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WITHIN 90 DAYS OF PURCHASE.
    • Installation and inspection must be completed within 12 months.
    • Weep management system must be installed.
    • Denver Water must verify installation.
    • Mail completed application to your water provider.
    • Please allow eight to 12 weeks for your completed application to be processed.
    • Failure to cash a rebate check within 90 days of issuance shall void the rebate and shall relieve Denver Water of any obligation or liability to pay the rebate.

  • Commercial Warewashing Equipment Rebate

    Denver Water will pay our business and institutional customers to purchase or lease high-efficiency commercial warewashing equipment. The Commercial Warewashing Equipment Rebate program offers $300 per machine purchased or leased and installed. An additional $50 is offered to customers who also install automated operational efficiency monitoring equipment.

    To receive a rebate, warewashers must meet EnergyStar® standards for energy and water efficiency. See the complete list of approved warewashers.

    Qualifications

    • Customer must receive treated water from Denver Water or a Denver Water provider.
    • A receipt for the new equipment dated between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010, must be provided with the application.
    • SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION WITHIN 90 DAYS OF PURCHASE.
    • Installation and inspection must be completed within 12 months.
    • The water savings from the new equipment must last at least five years, including leased equipment. (Customers cannot apply for another rebate for five years)
    • Customers with automated operational efficiency monitoring equipment must submit detailed service report at the end of the first year.
    • Failure to cash a rebate check within 90 days of issuance shall void the rebate and shall relieve Denver Water of any obligation or liability to pay the rebate.
      • Rebate checks cannot be reissued.

  • Commercial Meter and Meter Reading System Rebate

    Denver Water will pay our commercial, industrial, and institutional customers to monitor their water use, which may involve replacing their existing water meter with a water meter compatible with digital meter reading systems. Once a compatible meter is in place, customers will be paid to install a digital meter reading system.

    The Commercial Meter and Meter Reading System Rebate offers:

    • 25% of the cost per water meter, not including installation. Meter must be compatible with digital meter reading system.
    • $150 per signal splitter and new automatic meter reading (AMR) device installed for the purpose of digital meter reading. Note: compound meters will require two splitters.
    • Please contact Denver Water meter shop at 303-628-6704 for consultation to determine necessary equipment.

    Qualifications

    • Operation and maintenance of equipment is sole responsibility of customers.
    • Customer must receive treated water and a bill from Denver Water.
    • A receipt for the new equipment dated between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2010, must be provided with the application.
    • Submit your application within 90 days of purchase.
    • Installation must be completed within 12 months of application receipt date.
    • Representatives from meter manufacturers, Denver Water meter shop, Denver Water Conservation and customer must be present during installation.
