Under the direction of the CEO/Manager, the Engineering Division is responsible for the design, construction and related engineering aspects of physical additions or improvements to the water system.

Survey
Survey provides land surveying, aerial photography and mapping services related to new and existing Denver Water facilities, properties, rights-of-way and easements.

Programs and Projects
Programs and Projects provides engineering services related to new and existing Denver Water facilities. These services are provided through a number of engineering disciplines and related functions, including civil, structural, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, corrosion and dam safety.

Construction Management
Construction Management provides contract administration support related to construction projects involving new or existing Denver Water facilities. This support is provided by a Construction Inspection Section, which is responsible for contract administration and inspection, and a Materials Lab, which is responsible for monitoring concrete, soils and miscellaneous materials that are associated with construction contracts or other Denver Water Operation and Maintenance projects.

Distribution & Property Management
Distribution & Property Management is responsible for designing, scheduling, inspecting and preparing as-built drawings for all main installations by Board forces. Among other duties, this section is responsible for easement acquisitions, plan reviews, land sales and exchanges, and license agreements on Denver Water’s operating and non-operating properties.

Asset Recording
Asset Recording is responsible for all activities related to the Geographic Information Systems database, including adding, deleting, updating and making improvements to the database, as well as creating and maintaining records related to each facility, among other duties.

Administration
Administration is responsible for all administrative functions related to the other sections including filing, ordering supplies, administering contracts, monitoring the Minority Business Enterprise Program, budgeting, scheduling and completing other secretarial/clerical services.
