Board & Organization

Denver Water is run by a five-member Board of Water Commissioners, which is charged with ensuring a continuous supply of water to the people of Denver and Denver Water’s suburban customers. The Board designates a manager to execute its policies and orders. The manager oversees the different divisions within Denver Water, including: Engineering, Finance, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Operations and Maintenance, Planning and Public Affairs.

The Ludlow Valve Manufacturing Co. of Troy, N.Y., produced this 60-inch gate valve in 1924. It was used to regulate South Platte River water diverted from Waterton Canyon to the Marston Reservoir and Treatment Plant in southwest Denver. The valve was in service from October 1924 to February 1995, during which time about 160 million gallons of water flowed through the device each day.

Today the valve sits in front of Denver Water's Administration Building.
